RTS Data Scout

The Data Scout from RTS Services is the newest addition to our SCADA Solution. Data Scout is designed specifically for data retrieval from large numbers of wells in concentrated areas, allowing a cost-effective means of reliably collecting data.

The typical Data Scout installation consists of several wells within a three kilometer radius where one central well is equipped with a full RTS Services RTU package, and the satellite wells would be outfitted with the Data Scout solution. The main RTU manages the data collection from the satellite sites and transmits all collected data to the host server on one communication link using either 1X cellular, licensed radio or satellite communications. This method allows our customers to maintain the level of functionality they expect from RTS, and to tie in additional wells to their SCADA system at a significantly lower cost.

As well, each well remains fully configurable using RTS Services FieldLINQ software, with data collected from the wells easily accessible, being separate and identifiable from the other wells using the Data Scout.

Specifications

Data Scout Package consists of Rosemount 3095FT flow computer, 20 watt solar panel, backup battery, 900Mhz spread spectrum radio and RTS Signal conversion module.

Software functionality is maintained including remote access to change gas compositions and orifice plate sizes. Radios are programmable to prevent crosstalk between wells using Data Scouts. Measured and calculated data is displayed locally on the flow computer for operator at location.
